Two are better than one.
So here we go again. iTunes Festival – the second.
Tonight it was the turn of the very talented lot from Rudimental to perform at the iconic Roundhouse in Camden Town. Unfortunately I missed Jess Glynne as warm up, as I only managed to get into the Roundhouse as Jess was singing the last chorus of her hit single ‘ Right Here’. Tough luck.
However, I couldn’t be more excited for Rudimental to own that recognisable stage of Camden’s Roundhouse. Having seen Rudimental twice already, rocking the O2 Arena and Wembley Stadium – as you do – part of the Summertime Ball 2013, I knew that this night was going to be epic!
The place was rather crowded and everyone was waiting for the headliners to enter the stage and get the party started.
The Rudimental boys and their live crew opened up with ‘Give You Up’, followed by a great performance of ‘Right Here’ that got the party people inside the Roundhouse dancing.
All the way through their performance Rudimental kept saying how happy they were to be back home – in London. The reaction was massive cheers and screams. London was obviously happy to have the boys back in town.
DJ Locksmith dedicated the amazing ‘Not Giving In’ to his son and the Roundhouse gave it their best to cherish the moment and without question a lot of waving hands and singing was involved.
Party mode was definitely on and didn’t go away until the last song was sung.
After a few more bangers, including a breathtaking performance of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bloodstream’ it was time to make every single person in the room ‘Feel The Love’.
What a magical moment, the entire iTunes Festival crowd was singing their hearts out and suddenly the power of love spread. There were girls on shoulders, couples kissing, friends hugging and a sea of ‘heart hands’.
Next thing we knew, the light went off and the stage was empty. Could that be the end? Of course not! It wouldn’t be a Rudimental gig without a massive sing-off to ‘For Our People’, the Roundhouse was split in half and both sides battling each other, but at the same time singing together and creating such a beautiful piece of music.
Eventually the concert came to an end and it was time for the last song and we surely had been ‘Waiting All Night’ for this moment. 😉
What a show and what a perfect way to start your Saturday night.
